1992年2月28日至30日，兩岸代表在香港協商中，為解決兩岸民間往來衍生的事務性問題，例如文書認證等，而口頭達成，如何表述兩岸同屬一中的方式。
2000年蘇起特創造了“九二共識“一詞，以求化繁為簡，以免每當提及此一原則時，均需重複陳述兩岸代表於1992年在香港達成此一共識的背景過程。尤其當涉及“一中“時，也無需表明其內涵實質究何所指。這是蘇起為兩岸民間交流能順利進行，不致中斷，而苦心設計的。
台獨分子為破壞”九二共識“，阻擾兩岸民間往來，竟混淆視聽、張冠李戴， 把“九二共識”說成是由蘇起創造的。實則蘇起只是創造了“九二共識“的名稱，而非”九二共識“的本身内容。”九二共識“如前所述，是兩岸代表於1992年在香港共同達成的口頭共識。雖為口頭，但經兩岸代表事後書信往來予以確認，足資證明。
台獨分子拒絕“九二共識“，只因反對兩岸同屬一中的事實。他們明知，兩岸民間往來，對臺灣，尤其是台商和赴大陸求學的學子們，有”百利而無一害“，而不敢明目張膽地反對，擔心會因此流失選票，而長期將“九二共識”作為稻草人。筆者相信，台獨分子終將發現，臺灣最需要“九二共識”的，不是別人，而正是台獨分子。
俄烏戰爭的殘酷鏡頭，令台獨分子心驚膽跳。他們最大的擔心，並非烏克蘭在俄羅斯攻擊下，毫無招架之力，而是美國和北約除了動動口，提供武器和金錢外，至今沒有實際出兵的行動。給人的整個感覺是，美國人出錢，烏克蘭出命。反正老子有錢，要你為我賣命，你就得為我賣命。看來，烏克蘭人不死光，美國霸權主義者是不會鬆手的。這個悲劇是由誰造成的呢？
烏克蘭人民，選出了個喜劇演員來做他們的總統。此人演戲固演得不錯，但既不懂政治，更不懂軍事，而且品格似乎也令人懷疑。他說話顛三倒四，出爾反爾，讓人難以捉摸。孫子兵法曰：“兵者國之大事，死生之地，存亡之道，不可不察也“。洋人懂孫子兵法者固聊聊無幾，但作為國家領導人，戰爭的兇險，凡事應三思而後行，且言而有信的道理，總應當懂吧。俄羅斯因烏克蘭領導人說話不算數，出爾反爾，而不再相信他，決心把戰鬥進行到底，徹底打垮烏克蘭，因而這兩天戰爭趨向猛烈了。
其實烏克蘭領導人自知不是俄羅斯對手。戰爭一開始，就有意按照俄羅斯提出的基本條件與其談和。然而一心欲通過代理人戰爭，拖垮俄羅斯的美國霸權主義者，卻一再出來阻擋。他們通過出錢、出武器，甜言蜜語，哄騙烏克蘭領導人。由於烏克蘭領導人一心夢想加入北約或歐盟，至今未能從對方的謊言中清醒過來。看來烏克蘭真要戰至一兵一卒了。然而無辜的烏克蘭人民何其不幸，只因他們選錯了領導人。
受俄烏戰爭震撼，近日臺灣藍綠政治人物都在重新思考，如何定位以緩和兩岸關係。 這並不可笑，而是值得讚賞和欽佩的行為。兩岸的敵對關係，是國民黨上代人從大陸帶到臺灣來的。這本與台獨無關，而與其他人更無關，早該將其放下了。要與大陸和解並不困難，只要放棄台獨，重新回到“九二共識”的框架就行了。諒美國霸權主義者絕不敢造次。

What are the downsides? How about: unrestricted Chinese capital investment in Taiwan, much like unrestricted capital investments by the persian gulf potentates in London, will make the real TAiwanese/Benshengren alien foreigners in our own country. In a couple of years, the economic resources of TAiwan will be controlled by Chinese capital, making benshengren Taiwanese colonial subjects [again], reduced to a second class existence, much like the native Vancouverites, the non-mainlander HKers, and working/middle class Britons living in/near London. A small minority of “TAiwanese" middlemen/brokers will benefit, and benefit greatly, in the short run, serving as the conduits enabling the Chinese to establish “beachhead" investments in TAiwan, but even these middlemen will become obsolete eventually once the Chinese control enough of Taiwan to change the rules of the game.
There’s nothing the mainland educational system offers the Taiwanese student that she/he couldn’t get in Taiwan. The mainland/Chinese educational system is a fundamentalist, confucianist, “examinationist" system whose primary function is to make sure that any amount, no matter how small, of idealism, curiosity, and genuine love of knowledge, is bled out of each student by the time it finishes with her/him and spits him/her out. It spits out cynical, hyper-competitive, corrupt people whose first instinct is to “game" the system. We already know how to make automatons in Taiwan, thanks to our endemic confucianism; we don’t need to make more automatons, more efficiently.
The 92 consensus is just hogwash. There are supposed to be two parts: (i) that Taiwan is a part of “China"; AND (i) each of Taiwan and the mainland is free to interpret what “China" in actuality means. The mainland authorities have never, ever, ever, on ANY occasion, moved past (i); they don’t acknowledge the existence of (ii).
The real reason the waishengren unificationists want unification is this: unification will return them to their pre-Chiang Ching-Kuo era status, in TAiwan. They’re not going back to China; indeed, all the seats in the musical chair of life, in China, have all been taken. When/if the mainlanders take over Taiwan, the first thing they will do will be to entrust positions of authority to the waishengren, not the benshengren. Chinese unification will usher in another wave of disenfranchisement of us benshengren, and will return the waishengren to their former statuses of authority, in Taiwan. This is the real reason why they are so keen on the idea of unification.
